Forest Princess

This is one of a series of eight one-of-a-kind fantasy doll outfits which I just finished, based on ancient Greek clothing. Forest Princess is for MSD-sized girl dolls. Here it's modelled by my Yewande, an Iplehouse Benny.

The chiton (ky-TON) is made of cream cotton gauze eyelet. The himation (hih-MAT-ee-on) is a fashion fabric which was hand-dyed in moss greens and charcoals. It has metallic gold sparkles and clear reflective sequins. I picked up on the green from the fashion fabric with the bracers, belt and circlet, which I made of a mossy green light wool suiting. The circlet and belt are trimmed with Czech glass beads, gold-plated chain and leaf pendants, and lace leaves hand-dyed by me in green and grey. The outfit is completed with fibulae (pins which fasten the chiton at the shoulders) made by me of gold-plated jewellery findings, and an armlet made of Czech glass beads.

I made the forest props using artificial plants, florist's moss, and styrofoam forms.
