Crusaders needlepoint

Description

These are needlepoint adaptations of an original motif from an illuminated manuscript... I photocopied them from a book years ago, and have lost the name of the designer. If anyone recognizes these please let me know!

I made the full-size version (the original designer meant for it to be a pillow) with wool tapestry yarn on 14-count canvas, and had it framed for my wall. :) That was quite a few years ago...

The teeny-tiny version I did late last year for a donation to the auction at Camp MiniHaHa. It was done using a single strand of cotton embroidery floss on 40-count silk gauze. This made it a pretty good size for a 1/12th scale castle! It made the most money for a single item at the auction, so I'm pretty proud of it!

very nice work on both of them! I especially like that you were inventive enough to make a miniature from floss - and 40 count! You've got better eyes than I do!
